Terms and membership

Membership, recurring billing, account responsibilities, and studio participation expectations.

By purchasing a membership, booking a session, joining a waitlist, placing a preorder, buying a prepaid product, or using this site, you agree to follow The Mahjong Studio policies shown at checkout, in your account, and on this policies page.

The Mahjong Studio provides recreational, educational, and social Mahjong classes, open play, memberships, bookings, events, and studio products. The studio does not offer gambling, betting, wagering, casino games, sweepstakes, lotteries, fantasy sports, or any game of chance or skill with monetary or material prizes.

We offer Mahjong tiles, mats, accessories, and related retail products for purchase during classes, events, open studio sessions, and preorder availability.

Payment is collected at the time of booking, membership signup, preorder, product purchase, or in-person checkout.

Tournament, event, class, membership, booking, preorder, or product fees pay only for studio access, instruction, event administration, purchased products, or related services. They do not create a right to win cash, credits, stored value, gifts, merchandise, or any other prize of value.

Membership gives active members access to member-specific pricing, benefits, and studio experiences while the account remains in good standing. Membership benefits are personal to the member account and may not be transferred or shared unless The Mahjong Studio states otherwise in writing.

Paid memberships renew automatically on the billing cycle shown during checkout until cancelled through the supported billing path. Cancelling stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund prior charges, completed sessions, or products already fulfilled.

Members and guests are responsible for using accurate contact information, protecting account access, following studio conduct expectations, and using private support channels for account, billing, attendance, or member-specific questions.

The Mahjong Studio may update class schedules, event availability, session capacity, benefits, pricing, and policies as needed for studio operations. Material checkout terms are presented before purchase when payment is required.

Privacy and data support

The Mahjong Studio is a recreational, educational, and social Mahjong studio. We use customer information to operate memberships, classes, sessions, private events, purchases, and customer support; customer payments are not gambling, wagering, betting, or prize-entry activity.

The Mahjong Studio collects information needed to operate memberships, bookings, events, purchases, customer support, staff workflows, and site reliability. This can include name, email address, phone number, membership status, booking and attendance history, waitlist activity, preorder and prepaid product details, private-event inquiries, communication preferences, and support messages.

Payment information is processed by Stripe or other approved payment providers. The Mahjong Studio does not ask you to send full card numbers, card security codes, passwords, or other sensitive payment credentials through email, public forms, or community channels.

We use customer information to provide the services you request, process transactions, manage memberships and bookings, send operational messages, respond to support requests, improve studio operations, protect the site, prevent misuse, and meet legal, tax, accounting, payment, security, and compliance obligations.

For purchaser-paid group registrations, the signed-in purchaser may enter guest attendee name, email, and phone details for roster operations, consent and waiver administration, support, order administration, and approved legal or accounting needs. Guest attendee records are guest roster records and are not account records.

Guest attendee roster records are retained for 24 months unless a legal hold, accounting requirement, dispute, or applicable policy requires a different retention period.

We disclose information only as needed to operate the business and provide the service. This may include payment processors, hosting and database providers, email or SMS providers, analytics and monitoring services, professional advisors, and authorities when required by law or necessary to protect customers, staff, the studio, or the integrity of the service.

We use administrative, technical, and operational safeguards intended to protect customer information, including role-based staff access, secret management, protected payment processing, audit-oriented workflows, and security-conscious support practices. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so customers should use private support channels and avoid sending sensitive credentials or payment details.

To request account help, correction, deletion routing, data-support review, or privacy assistance, contact info@themahjongstudionc.com. Some records may need to be retained for legitimate business, legal, tax, accounting, safety, fraud-prevention, payment, or dispute-resolution reasons.

Booking, cancellation, and refunds

Session booking, waitlist, cancellation, no-show, refund, and credit expectations.

Bookings are subject to capacity, eligibility, payment reconciliation, instructor availability, and studio operations. For group registrations, each attendee must be captured with accurate contact details through the studio-approved order or support process.

For purchaser-paid group registrations, the signed-in purchaser enters attendee details and pays for the order. Each attendee uses one seat and appears separately on the staff roster. Changes, cancellations, refunds, or credits may require studio support and manual review.

Waitlist claim windows are time-limited. If a claim window expires, the available seat may move to the next eligible person on the waitlist.

Cancellation, refund, credit, and no-show outcomes depend on session timing, product type, payment status, and any terms shown during booking or checkout. The Mahjong Studio may issue refunds, credits, or manual adjustments when required by law, payment partner rules, or studio-approved support decisions.

Preorders, pickup, and prepaid products

Pickup windows, preorder cutoffs, prepaid products, gift cards, and support.

Preorders, pickup items, gift cards, class passes, and other prepaid products may include cutoff times, pickup windows, eligibility rules, expiration details, fulfillment notes, and support instructions shown during purchase.

We offer Mahjong tiles, mats, accessories, and related retail products for purchase during classes, events, open studio sessions, and preorder availability.

Payment is collected at the time of booking, membership signup, preorder, product purchase, or in-person checkout.

Some products require recipient information, contact details, delivery notes, or account matching so staff can fulfill the purchase and provide support.

Pickup exceptions, fulfillment questions, credits, and support adjustments are handled through info@themahjongstudionc.com. Please include the purchaser email, order details, and the issue you need resolved.
